Wicklow County Council has flagged filming at three local forest parks through September — Devil's Glen, Trooperstown and Ballard Wood will be closed to the public on the dates below, starting Monday 7 September.
Culture Night returns on Friday 18 September 2026 with more than 50 free events across the county, including jazz, trad music, a linocut workshop and pop-up printmaking right here in Wicklow Town.
The Bray to Greystones Cliff Walk Management Committee met on 1 September — a preferred rope access contractor has been identified and detailed slope inspections could start mid to late September, but the walk stays closed with no reopening date.
Wicklow County Council is closing the M11 southbound overnight — 21:00 to 06:00, Monday to Friday nights — from 7 September to 13 November 2026 for resurfacing. Phase 1 covers Junction 13 to Junction 16, the stretch most of us drive home on.
Updated 24 August — Uisce Éireann has extended the water conservation order for Wicklow and 12 other counties until 11.59pm on Wednesday 30 September 2026. It lifts on 26 August everywhere else, but not here.
Wicklow County Council's latest statement (28 July) confirms the Bray to Greystones Cliff Walk remains closed on safety grounds, with slope inspections being tendered and ecological surveys under way on both sides — an alternative route is available.
